Karate in the garage?

It's common knowledge that the power of two is greater than that of a mere mortal. It's for that exact reason that we've selected choice co-conspirators to collaborate for the greater good of all. In this iteration of our newest rotating DIPA, Mosaic and Centennial were forced to go belly to belly with the lights off. Frankly, the results were a bit of a surprise.

When we finally peeked in the garage, we found the two cuddled firmly under one of Dad's half-used oil rags, limbs intertwined and forming but one whole cone. "Did we..." Mosaic begins to ask. "Yup. We sure did."

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of stone fruit are present in the nose along with notes of mangos and citrusy hops - grapefruit seems to stand out in particular.
T: The taste has flavors of stone fruit with notes of herbal hops and hints of grapefruit pith and mangos.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The smell and taste of this beer have a lot of complexity from the hops. It also manages to hide any traces of alcohol very well.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 9/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a fantastic NEDIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Great soft feel and not aggressive. Amazing Centennial/Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.
