This was a fabulous treat, partially because matched it up so nicely with my preferences. I’m glad I got a 4-pack. I really liked the fragrance, which was fruity and malty, as well as the puffy foamy head that lingered after I poured. But the taste is where this excelled for me: citrusy and juicy, and a little sweet, and then a smallish hoppy bite at the end. I appreciate quirky and interesting local breweries, and the label art alone made this fun.

16oz can at Uprise Bar. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing on the pint glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, guava and caramel. It tasted of tropical fruits and citrus with toasted caramel and a sharp, piney bitterness.

From an interesting can, adorned with a middle-aged man with various toupees, this one is thick, hazy, dark straw color. The head is white and thick. Deep fruit in the aroma...guava, melon, a little citrus, and stone fruit. The taste has a warmth, along with continued fruit, balanced with a bit of hop bitterness. The balance is on the sweet side. Lasting finish. Fairly full in body with an alcohol note. Interesting.

Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. The can is stamped with a time, but not a date.
Appearance: medium golden hue with plenty of haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt aroma with notes of grapefruit, peach, passionfruit, and orange. I like it well enough, but it all blends together into a mélange that just reads as “sweet” to me, without any one of the flavors really popping.
Taste: very sweet, with grapefruit rind coming in up front and finishing of with a more peachy/apricoty stone fruit kinda thing. I do like it, and it has a nice juiciness that’s absent in the aroma, but dang is this thing sweet!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess. Honestly with this much malt I would have expected some more body.
Overall: a good hazy, but not an outstanding one.

It takes a lot of thought, preparation and simply hard work to get it right. And we're not talking hairpieces, we are also thinking about the delicate nature of stronger, hazier IPA.
Hoof Hearted whole heartedly shares The Astroturf of Hair, a triple IPA that pours with a similar yeasty, silted and custard appearance, sepia in its tint and crowned with a soft eggshell meringue. A bold scent of tropical, citrus and stone fruit waft across the nose, carrying a spicy twinge of pepper, pine and herb. Cereal sweet on the palate, early flavor impressions are of poundcake, cookie dough and honey with a plump cereal grain taste. Rising hops command the session from middle palate onward and does so with strong pineapple, tangerine, white grapefruit, apricot, passionfruit, mango, nectarine and peach impressions. The cornucopia of fruit is met with a late bitterness of spruce, tea leaf and hemp all wrapped in a juicy cocoon of cantaloup.
Full bodied, creamy and plush, the imperial IPA finishes malty-dry and with a slightly sweeter than bitter balance- not an easy feat whether on the field or in the beer bar.
