Hoof Hearted Brewing

On tap at the brewery, into a pint glass.

Pours a light very hazy orange/yellow with great foam, especially considering the glass. Aroma is overripe mango and peach. Tons of peach. Flavor is similar, very heavy on the peach and nectarine with a little mango and a subtle dank kick on the back end. A little sweet, a little bitter, but tons of smooth hop flavors. The peach terpenes don't really taste like terpenes here, they just feel like an extension of existing hop flavors and they're not doing a ton of heavy lifting. It's a shockingly subtle beer and is very well balanced especially for as thick as it is. Malt flavors are a little stronger here, with some cereal and vanilla coming through well which pairs very well with the hops and terpenes. Feel is good, once again super thick and creamy, but not in a cloying or sticky way. Body is medium low, shockingly drinkable for the proof, and very slightly sticky on the back end. It's pretty balanced and rather complex with how nuanced the vegetal bitterness gets and how long the finish is.

Overall, Hoof Hearted at the brewery is a different experience. Both the beers I had were extremely refreshing in addition to the excellent hop flavors, but this one is a little more unique. I think it's one of my favorite incorporations of terpenes into a beer that I've had.
