Fresh can poured into fluted snifter.

Looks nice. Hazy straw with thick foamy white head. Settles and rings my glass with a thin collar.

Citrus and mango come through on the aroma with a hint of herbal or vegetal kicking around in the background.

Flavor is a bit more subdued than expected. Some tropical fruit, hint of sweetness and citrus zest. Grapefruit pith bitterness.

Moderate carbonation and medium body.

Hints at being a big hoppy brew but lacks the punch in its flavor.

Very clear pale golden body with a soapy white head. Aroma is a balance between citrus and pine. Flavor is a little more fruit and tropical, with the citrus and pine balancing out the big hoppy flavor. Feel is smooth and medium bodied. Solid beer.

Pours hazy and yellow, but with 2/3" white head on top. Good aroma of tropical fruit and citrus hop notes.

Taste, pretty good stuff. Bitterness in the 50ibu range, still dropping plenty of hop flavors similar to those in the nose, but this time in the taste/mouth feel. Not abrasive. Mango, passion fruit, pineapple, mild sweetness. Nothing really in the way of malt flavors on this one, you'll be searching for something beyond the usual caramel, toffee or toasted pale malt descriptors here. Doesn't finish dry, too much sweetness going for it to land in that descriptor.

I liked it, thanks to whoever sent them to me.

This is pretty tasty -- real nice tropical nose with a hint of dank. Taste is dank with a hint of tropical. As it warms the tropical approaches a balance with the dank. Slight bitter hop bite at the end that is a nice compliment to this one. Very drinkable. Thanks to BierRunner for three HH offerings. This brewery has my attention. Looking forward to more in the future.

Huge thanks to ENovak for sending me this beer. Drank out of a Teku.

Look: light straw golden color with medium minus haze and a half a finger of rocky head.

Aroma: Big mango when I cracked the can but in the glass the greener flavors really come out. very herbal with lots of green onion in there as well. Maybe a little spruce. Also, some citrus pith.

Taste: Much juicer than the nose would suggest. Definitely some mangos and grapefruit but finishes with green onion on the back end. Can hardly detect any bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Nice medium to medium minus creaminess but it doesn't feel anything like a 7.2% beer. Super crushable.

Overall(Style Points): At 7.2% I would say this beer pushes the boundaries of single IPA . Nice and well balanced, definitely celebrates the greener qualities of IPA but without the resinous aftertaste that plagues so many west coast IPAs. 90.75 Points.

Acquired from CapCollector16, so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 16oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, piney hops and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of citrus and caramel. Then a strong but not over-powering piney hops bitterness comes in. the malt character is on the lighter side for the style but provides a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Very tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, very good representation of style, this is a very nice IPA to drink for a long time.

This is another Hoof beer that looks like pulpy lemonade, or a mimosa--considering we're here for another brunch, it's fitting. Webby but fluid lacing tends to slide downwards over time.

Musk is actually not as dank as other Hoof brews. Mellow tropical citrus hops in the aroma and flavor are the main takeaway, but it's not necessarily fruity or juicy like Konkey Dong. Third or fourth batch I've had of this dialed the dankness back up to the levels I had heard about previously, most notably on the nose.

A little corn, biscuit, graham, grape, light green pine and dankness with some orange lemon and guava on the palate.

It's a nice, dry IPA with light bitterness.

I feel like a broken record when reviewing Hoof Hearted IPAs: Super cloudy, orange juice appearance. A blend of fruit and pine in the aroma and mostly hoppy on the palate. I drank this after having a HH Jacuzzerooski and to be honest I couldn't tell the difference. Jacuzzerooski was maybe a little hoppier, but the differences between them are evolutionary, not revolutionary. Both good, but it would be nice to see some more variation.

Pours pale straw to golden in color with a white fluffy head.

The aroma is very citrusy and floral.

Taste: Lots of hops. Lots of citrus musk. Dandelion. Pineapple juice. Some of that taste you would get from orange juice that you found sitting in the back of your fridge for too long that its tinted brown... yeah, a little of whatever that flavor is.

Nice body and good drinkability. Sometimes I thought it was one of the most tropical IPA's I've had, and other sips I though it was one of the most floral. It's nice.... get it if you can.

A friend picked up a 4 pack for me while up in Maine. Apparently they are randomly distributing there now. This beer is either no good, or I had a bad batch. Little to no aroma. Weird flavor that I can't put my finger on, just not pleasant. At all. Definitely picked up some diacetyl both in the taste and mouth feel. Buttery and slick. I won't be seeking this one out anytime in the future.

Thanks to WesMantooth for this can.

A - Hazy medium orange color with a soapy white lacing ring.

S - Lots of citrus with predominant pineapple in the nose.

T - Taste follows the nose with a dominating resiny citrus palate with mostly pineapple orange, apricot and no malt - all citrus with very light citrus bitterness on the tale end.

M - Big medium body, light carbonation.

O - A very citrus juicy beer with a balanced citrus bitterness - all hops with this one.

16 ounce Can in a Belgian Tulip.

I've seen some posts about this Brewing Company yet never had any of their Offerings. So I am digging in this box that was sent to me from a Generous, Fellow Beer Advocate. Ok, time for the Brew! This brew Pours an Outstanding shade of Orange body, Murky as all get out. Nice crown of white Bubbles tops this beaut. Looks Pretty Standard and inviting.

Going in for the Nose.. At first whiff you pick up a Grain sweetness followed by an herbal hop presence. On the backend there's notes of Citrus rind but not too pungent. This also has a deep toasted bread aroma that reminds me of home..don't ask.

Time for the Flavah! First hits you with butterscotch sweetness and toasted bread quality that the aroma details. Second wave of Citric Rind (Oranges Dominant) that act as a refresher to the toast. As the flavor descend there's a heavy hit of Herbal/Spicy hops with some Weed like qualities that finishes. This finishes a bit weak, dry and thin with a subtle bitterness that flows evenly. Aftertaste brings you hop resins and orange citrus fruity yeast esters. The brew feels pretty cool on the palate. It's playful and light with with a weird smoothness that actually I prefer versus what else this brew is talking about. Carbonation is on point.

Overall: This is a tasty IPA. Very Herbal and Green...if you know what I mean. The Citrus is laid back while more Earthy hops shine forth. You can taste the Hop Resins that seem to dominate more as you drink it. The aroma is a bit dull to me. As in not grabbing my attention to something new or thrashing my nostrils around. I would crush this brew on repeat if I had access to it. This Brew is Worthy!

16 oz can poured into Spiegelau glass no date on can

A: Hazy straw colored in appearance with a white creamy looking head clarity is better in the glass at the bottom where it is thinner

S: Pineapple and herbal with hints of grapefruit pith a little bit of a grain oatmeal smell

T: This has that herbal thick taste with hints of fruit very little bitterness has the light pineapple but more of a grain taste the feel is amazing

M: This beer is quite impressive the mouthfeel is thick across the tongue and very full but with a watery finish the texture makes this beer feel creamy and fuller makes you think it might be an imperial IPA

O: Really enjoyed this its not super fruity or crazy hoppy but that chewy mouthfeel and grain taste make it feel extremely smooth and very flavorful. I would definitely drink this again if I seen it very nice feel on this beer

Had on tap finally!

Aroma is full of citrus and light tropical fruit notes.

Taste is exactly the same. Grapefruit, orange peel, apricot, peach notes and a bit of resin. Very tasty and hop forward with no real malt notes to get in the way.

Body is medium and mouthfeel crisp.

Another great IPA from these guys!

The old standby of Hoof Hearted. Nice mix of piney and citrus characters, one of the easiest drinking IPAs I've ever had. Reminds me a lot of Lawson's offerings and not a bad price point either.

Big, bold and juicy- the Hoof Hearted guys surely didn't go half-hearted on their IPA. Instead, they go all in with the dankest tropical, citrus, and fruit-forward melody that modern hops can provide.

Pouring like light orange juice, its opaque haze filters the light through a dense straw body. As a creamy lather eventually mounts on top the ale, the nose is swayed by the lavish perfume of white grapefruit, tangerine, mango, apricot and pineapple. Mouth watering and teeth-churning, the first tangy-sweet scent greets the tongue like fruit sherbet and Hawaiian fruit punch.

And while the sweetness dissolves effortlessly on the middle palate, its creamy malt substrate continues to support the hops with biscuit, starch and angel food cake. Dropping its perfume, the hops venture quickly into the branch-ripened goodness of passion fruit, lemon, apple and honeydew before trailing off with the gripping resinous bitterness of freshly torn spruce, lemon leaf, citrus peel and curious wafts of cannabis.

Malty-dry and creamy, the medium-light ale carries a rich but arid texture that keeps the hops enlivened but never interfering with the hop's dominance. Effortless in its palatability, the finish is awash with citrus, pine and herbaceous botanicals- lingering deeply on the throat.

Really nice nose with grapefruit, orange, even a touch of lemon. Turns a little herbal and dank with warmth. On the tongue, a light biscuit malt provides just a bit of sweetness before the hop bite begins to build. Citrusy, juicy, with a dank, resinous bitterness that lingers throughout. This is very good, and the remainder of the 4 pack won't last long!

Can hand-dated 9-6 (from WesMantooth, maybe?):
Pours a quite hazy straw yellow, closing in on white ale territory. Head explodes on a rough pour. I settled the pour down, but there is still a pillow of foamy head a finger thick minutes into the drink. Lacing is fairly significant, and the head remains in a nice medium puck in the nucleated glass I was using. The color is cloudiness is a little much for me, but the head easily makes up for it.

Nose is somewhat surprisingly orange-juice backed by maybe a hint of lemon. There is an impression of grassy "green notes" - or maybe even mint.

Taste open like the nose does - with orange-like citrus, but not as sweet as the nose indicated, like tangerine, maybe a little grapefruit pulp, or even an unripe kumquat as there is a hint of sweetness that is squashed by a hit of rind-like bitterness. The taste does turn a bit green and a hint of pine is added to the pith, and I could interpret the transition as having a hint of mint. As the beer warms, I start to get some tropical notes in the transition from juice to green, and the green mellows slightly.

The feel is a little light on carbonation, but this missing component does add a smoothness and softness to the beer. I might want a little more tingle or action on my palate. Starts out juicy and wet, ends a with soft, slightly resinous feel that never completely loses its wetness.

Was expecting a nice dry, resinous brew from the pour; I expected a very juicy beer from the nose. I got a little bit of both, but more of the latter. Definitely a beer I'd like to grab another of to confirm my thoughts, but I would be happy if I had it available to me.

Beautiful brew: bright orange color, bordering on yellow, hazy and cloudy. Good sized snow white head with excellent lacing and retention.

Big, big hoppy aroma, focusing on tropical fruit juice. Mango, tangerine, a touch of grapefruit peel, pale malts, some dank herbs, and an almost milky, wheat-like aspect to the malts.

Flavor mostly follows. There's definitely an emphasis on dankness and juiciness, although the malt provides a very nice, almost chewy presence and sufficient sweetness. The hops are actually reined in a touch, providing just enough tropical juice (mango and pineapple), dankness, and grassiness to round out the flavor profile quite well.

Bitterness is restrained but adequate; the hop focus here is clearly late addition/dry hop.

16 ounce can, no dating on it but this just showed up at a recent store over the past week so I'm assuming it's from a recent canning. Served in a DFH IPA glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a couple inch white head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like citrusy (oranges, grapefruit, tropical fruit) hops, earthy dankness and some bready malt. I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but the dankness really shows up and is stronger compared to the other flavors. It's a nice dank and fruity IPA! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this one a lot, the dankness made this a nice change of pace compared to most of the other IPA's I've had recently. It's also a brew that I thought got better the longer I drank it. Glad I picked some up this morning! $10.99 a 4-pack.

A - Nice golden orange color. Hazy. One finger creamy head that's here to stay.

S - Grapefruit hops up front. Mango/papaya as well. Faint sweet malts.

T - Again, grapefruit up front. Tropical notes as it warms. Piney finish with short lasting bitterness and some malty balance.

M - Light bodied - Moderate carbonation.

O - Another excellent offering from Hoof Hearted (love the name!). Well balanced and delicious. This is THE best brewery in Ohio putting out IPAs. Period.
