It pours amber with a reddish/pink tint to it. Small head that does not stick around for too long or leave any lacing. Astringent, lactic nose. Some floral notes. Some cinnamon and boiled stone fruits (plums and cherries). A very complex beer.

Fairhope Brewing Co. "Tarts & Crafts"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, no apparent freshness dating
$2 @ Weis Market #231, Conshohocken, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Interesting label. Ha ha! That pelican is supposed to be Bob Ross! That alone might be worth the price of admission. Surprisingly clear pink body beneath a two-finger thick head of pinkish white that drops all to readily. That's fairly common for sour beers though. Aroma of fruit pulp, kind of non-distinct, but berry-like. If I had to pick a fruit or fruits to go with that I'd say strawberry, red raspberry, and cherry. The flavor doesn't change much. It reminds me of some of the raspberry ales I tasted back in the day. But this is a new brewery for me, I've never even heard of them, so I have no idea what's in there or what it's supposed to be other than the fact that the label reads "FRUIT BEER". I could google it and try to find more information but I don't really care. It's a clean, mildly tart, fruity beer that's light bodied and crisp - totally refreshing! Surprisingly it's also got 4.5% ABV which isn't bad. I'm not sure it's got enough flavor to keep me interested beyond one though.

12 oz. bottle dated 1/3/17. Poured into Belgian ale glass.
L: YUGE explosive head. No evidence of it when you open bottle, but as soon as you pour, it's foam city. Takes a good 15 minutes to settle down. Leaves only a few spots of lacing and a cap and ring. Beer is clear golden amber, with an absolute geyser of carbonation bubbles like I've never seen before. So what does this all mean?
S: Slightly wet yeast and sour fruit, like cherry. Flaked wheat.
T: Welp. Basically a surge of carbonated water, followed by some sour cherry, with some flaked wheat and yeastiness. But overall, it is very watery, almost as if you added some sour cherry concentrate to sparkling water.
F: Light bodied, completely overcarbonated. Construction not very good, balance not even worth discussing. Crisp and refreshing, from a certain point of view.
O: This is not a good Berliner.
