Northwest Style Pale Ale
Hop heads, this one’s for you. Crisp, piney, and unapologetically bitter, it is built on a smooth malty base with a dry finish. It brings big sticky resin, terp-heavy hops, and just enough stone fruit and apricot to keep things interesting.
It’s dank. It’s punchy. It’s Tasty!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From their Hoptastic Voyage boxset at my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned August 6/25. My 9th beer from the Ottawa, Ontario brewery, and 3rd for 2026. With Gracie the cat's overwhelming approval...

473 mL can from the LCBO, included in Beyond the Pale's Hoptastic Voyage mixed pack; dated May 6 2025 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-orange colour, giving rise to an inch of tight, foamy white head that falls back within a few minutes. A modest smattering of lace is left in its wake, with a creamy collar and sudsy, bubbly cap lasting on the surface; looks fine to me. Earthy, herbal, woodsy hops on the nose, with notes of whole grain bread, grapefruit and stone fruit also coming through.
Refer back to its name for an appropriate description. I'm getting tart apple, apricot and lemon at the forefront, backed by cereal grains and bready malt sweetness. Grapefruit, orange peel and dank, earthy hop bitterness on the back end, the latter persisting into a piney, woodsy aftertaste that West Coast IPA fans should appreciate. This is an APA, of course, so said bitterness is comparatively less intense and much more short-lived. Light-medium in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains active throughout the session, adding both some bite and some frothiness to this brew's smooth, fluffy mouthfeel. Great drinkability, with real session potential.
Final Grade: 3.96, a B+. Tasty! is an appropriately, if uncreatively-titled pale ale that I can't find much reason to complain about. Perhaps a more robust malt bill would've made for a more well-rounded beer, but I still think this is perfectly crushable just the way it is. I tend to lean more towards the West Coast style vs. East, so it's no surprise that I liked this slightly more than Beyond the Pale's Yummy! NEPA. Not the most interesting brew in this mixed pack, but worth trying in its own right.
