22 oz. bottle:
Pours hazed dark red to copper with a thin wispy head.
The smell is of smoked meat with sweet caramel. Some toast in the finish. The flavors blend nicely.
It has a smooth medium body.
A nice brew. The smoke aspect is well-integrated - not too soft, not too strong. Alcohol very well covered.

This is a fairly unique Smoked imperial red. Brilliantly clear reddish copper, thin frothy head with a little bit of spotty lacing.
Aroma is mellow, lightly sweet with trace fruity esters and light sweet smoke.
Taste is similar with a slight peaty element to the smoke. Smooth and medium bodied with a residual woody bitterness in the aftertaste. Pleasant and balanced, smoke is moderate but not harsh. Overall a solid seasonal. They had a pile of burnt books in the window as an homage to Fahrenheit 151, the beer was brewed for an NEA sponsored reading program.
