Had in Beijing.
Slowboats 2L stainless steel growler pored into a pint glass.
ABV: 6.5%
IBUs: 35
A- Medium straw-yellow. Actually looks a little watery. Pours a two finger, bright white head. Moderate carbonation.
S- The Belgian yeast really comes through in the nose. Very fruity with hints of green apple. Bready malts below the surface.
T- Not quite as fruity as the nose. More musty and spicy. Just enough hops to lets the yeast shine while still making themselves known. I'm actually getting a sort of sour hawthorne fruit taste in the finish.
M- This one felt a little thin. However, it goes down quite easily for a 6.5% beer. A super dry finish makes it even more refreshing.
A nice take on the saison style. Great for getting through the sweltering Beijing summer.
