Once again, a beer brewed with no info from the brewery. News had this as Imperial Pale Lager, other sites had it as Imperial Pilsner.
Darkness in the bar is likely making this look drier than it is. Held up to light it still seems a nice medium gold. Head I this thing is a nice couple mm cap, with sheets of lacing.
Nose has a piney nature to it. Lighter than you'd expect from an IPA, nicely balanced in general, and a bit strong for your basic lager. There is still a nice crackery to light bready malt note, too.
Taste follows the nose, a lager (Pilsner?) with an American hop profile that seems powerful for the style, but is likely in line with the (different) hop bite you get from a Czech pils.
Tad sweet opening, perhaps, but very clean. Balancing happens early with perhaps a citrus nod, before the pine (more than grapefruit pith) classic American hop takes over.
Wonderful brew, and bad on me for not assuming it would be. I did assume it'd be decent, solid; but this was damn good!!
Note: I assume this is fairly fresh, released only a couple weeks ago.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
