During my wife's and my recent beer/wine/triathlon vacation in NZ we decided to stop into Good George for some brew and pizza. Between my wife and I, we had several of their offerings in a single sitting since we had nowhere else to be.
This beer pours a reddish amber hue that is clear and features very light carbonation. The off white, frothy head dissipates quickly to a thin lacing that is almost non-existent. There does remain, however, a slight creamy neck that is retained nicely. 3.25/5 The aroma is incredibly subdued with any aromas coming across as undertones more than anything, lending the beer a very watery quality. There is some sweet caramel and grainy malt, but other than that nothing to really speak of. 3/5 The flavor is primarily on the malty side of things with caramel and toasted white bread coming through quite strongly along with some earthy and herbal hops that lend a very light bitterness that lingers very shortly and weakly. The flavors are fairly subdued throughout the profile. 3.25/5 This is a very wet, but not coating, watery beer that has very low carbonation and a very light body. It quenches any thirst for sure, but does not stick around after swallowing. 3/5 I can't say that I am a fan of this amber. Maybe it's just a weak batch that I happened to get a glass of, but this beer is very weak in terms of flavor. I think it has potential with the right flavor notes for an amber, but it's just not up to snuff for me. 3/5

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
