Had seen this on tap before I went there for dinner and made sure to try it. Generally a fan of Belching Beaver, but not so much their IPAs. But I love blood orange beers for the most part and was looking forward to it.
Poured a very light-to-straw cloudy color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white head when I got it. It was rather dark in there as always, but I could see a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent spiderweb lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled sharp blood orange, orange creamscicle, vanilla, orange blossom, floral and Citra. Very intriguing. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted vanilla first, ending with the bitter bloody orange, which ended abruptly. Also orange peel, orange blossom, orange creamscicle and tangerine pulp. (Taste - 3.75)
Light body. Oily textures. Lively carbonation. Bitter abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Enjoyed this overall. About as good as can be combining blood orange and vanilla could be I would guess. (Overall - 3.75)
