Pint from draft at Solana Beach Fish House. Great pairing with a fried fish sandwich. Pretty classic American version of the style. Crisp, clean, and hoppier than the traditional European examples. Tasty grain character and super drinkable.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: German Pilsner
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $2.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 15, 2022
Consumed: July 22, 2022
Misc.: Canned on April 25, 2022
Went to grab a 6-pack and a few cans at Windmill Farms and came home with 29 beers, spending way too much money. Online description I found read “A crisp body with a healthy dose of noble hop character featuring herbal, earthy, and lemony flavors will keep you coming back for more.”
Poured a pale-to-medium yellow clear color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of uneven bubble streams coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass, looking like a shaken-up snow globe. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Noble hops, skunk, hay, dry grass, biscuit, unsalted white cracker, herbal, lemon and earthy pilsner malt. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. In order got hay, dry grass, Noble hops, skunk, biscuit, black pepper, earthy pilsner malt, unsalted white cracker, herbal and lemon zest. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really liked this one. Would definitely pick up some more in the future. (Overall - 4.00)
