Now that I have begun really diving into the Bottle backlog here at Chez Woody, I am unstoppable! Yes, it means suspending The CANQuest (tm) for the moment, but the thought of being rid of these pesky bottles for once & for all is so heartening that I almost do not have words. These next bunch were all purchases through Tavour & as I have said repeatedly, I have no real beef with them. It was their inflexible local shipper + the continual adding to the backlog that led me to part ways. What a coup to have scored this one as it is the obverse to the previous beer!
From the Bottle: "This double version of Linkin' Up, our collaboration with Boulevard Brewing Co., features Galaxy hops and cryotechnology to produce an out of this world experience."; "Brave New Brew".
OMFG! What a huge bottle! I am SO glad to have purchased it when I had the opportunity! I Pop!ped the cap & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. It foamed nicely to form just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, eggshell-white head with modest retention. Color was, once more, a negotiable oh-so-slightly-hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Was it me? My inadvertent aging? Even The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus seemed to agree with my assessment as they passed on it. 8=( Nose had a smell like Dutch oven peach cobbler!
I was never a big camper, which is why the Boy Scouts had a very limited appeal & why I went into the Navy, but when we would whip up canned peaches & Bisquick & use live coals to bake it, I was sold!
This smelled just like that dessert, scooped onto my plate & into my mouth. Mouthfeel was big, full & creamy, like a dollop had been scooped off of my plate & into my mouth & onto my tongue! 8=O I savored every sip, finding it very peachy, peachy keen, indeed! It was like a slightly-bitter, hoppy dessert. Whoops! That may be overselling it since it was NOT what I would serve as a dessert beer. It just reminded me so much of peaches in every way.
If strawberries are my #1 & blueberries #2, then red raspberries & peaches are #s 3a & 3b. Yum!
I generally prefer a greater level of bitterness in my AIIPAs, but in this case, the lack of bitterness worked extremely well with the chosen malts. It had a pleasant biscuity quality that totally fit with the fruitiness of the hops. I found the huge bottle a bit daunting when I first hauled it out, but its contents have made for a most pleasant interlude. Finish was semi-dry to dry & its fruitiness made me think of a white wine. Not dry & definitely not sweet, but certainly palatable. YMMV.

On draft in Kansas City
Pours light and hazed, copious amounts of fine lace clinging to the glass
Zesty and pungent citric nose with lime coming to mind.
Tasty and loaded with flavor. Bright citrus, again lime plus grapefruit. Resin hopped up finish...worthy brew

750ml bottle served in a pint glass. I don't see a date on it.
Pours a clear light yellow with a huge fluffy head. Smell is great. Tropical, piney, powerful.
Taste is piney and floral. Lots of honeysuckle.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and dry. Overall, very nice.

Pours a foggy straw color with a finger of white foam. Head retention is fair. Aroma is citrus and lactose. It smells heavy, the humid air in the heart of a rainforest, but carries notes of an orange tree patch on a diary farm. Flavor profile is orange, tangerine, and mango. The flavor profile is a bit thinner than the aroma would imply. While 8.5% isn't super high alcohol for a DIPA, it does make its presence known. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a velvety, fizzy texture that is soft and welcoming. Overall, good hop notes although the aroma feels a bit top heavy when compared with the flavor profile.
Served in a 12oz snifter from a 750mL bottle.

750ml bottle. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, tan head of bubbly foam. It smelled of pine, grapefruit, citrus and toasted caramel. Sweet caramel with a sharp piney bitterness.
