12 oz bottle, 6.4% ABV, into Calusa snifter.
"...artful blend of red currants and our signature lager."
Pours a rather attractive scarlet colored body, maybe a hint pinker, with a whitish-pink half finger of head that dissipates nearly immediately.
Aroma from the glass yields literally nothing; aroma from the bottle yields an alcoholic fruited wine aroma mixed with adjunct lager funk.
Flavor is like a seltzer water with slight Fruit-By-The-Foot. It is in the same vein, but has less flavor than, Diet 7 Up. In fact, I'll bet if you watered down Diet CHERRY 7 Up, and then re-carbonated it, then carbonated it some more, you'd come rather close to this beer. Has some hints of pomegranate. Nothing sticks though, it is a very unremarkable beer.
Feel is full of flaws as well. Way over-carbonated, empty, grainy, and insignificant. Except for the starchy coating on the tongue that further sours an already lackluster mouthfeel.
Overall, if this beer spontaneously vanished from the planet and never returned, the world would be better for it. "Artful" is not a word I'd use. "Fart-ful", maybe. Avoid this unless you're looking for a hard seltzer.
Price paid : $1.69 / bottle
