Bottle 84/1600.
I believe I need to thank Prager62 for this gem.
Sadly this was "cellared" with some other bigger beers that should be laid down for a spell. This one should not have been. Having said this, turns out no damage seems to have been done.
Deep, nearly black, brown with a bountiful cocoa colored head. This slowly recedes, leaving a 1/2 inch pillowy cap. Hints of lacing.
Nose captivates. Creamy and sweet (in a gentle way), cocoa, and yes...a warm chile not sprinkled with cinnamon.
The taste definitely follows the nose. It's rather lush and full. The cocoa is unsweetened, the lactose still brings a nuanced creamy sweetness, there is a hint of roast, and the Chile and cinnamon definitely bring a depth to this one that is really pleasing but nt overly done. Frankly, I am surprised that neither of this ingredients went sideways considering my storage error.
Mouthfeel is on the fuller side. Low carbonation.
Overall, I really like this one.

Got this one from claaark13 a while back.
From a bomber into a snifter
07/08
1167 of 1600
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a three finger, medium looking, somewhat creamy tan head with good retention. Black body with a bit of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full, creamy cap and clings to the glass. Half wisp and ring remain but leave no real lacing as the glass empties.
SMELL: Decent amount of chili peppers here with milk sugar, vanilla cream, milk chocolate and a slightly roasted note. Decent strength.
TASTE: Chili peppers, sweet vanilla cream and milk chocolate up front. Some roasted flavors and a bit of chilies at the swallow, moving into a bolder and lingering finish of milk chocolate, sweet vanilla cream, some lactose sugars, a hint of roasted malt and a decent thread of smoky chili heat. Pretty well measured.
PALATE: Medium body and a touch lower carbonation. Enough weight, silky on the palate, goes down smooth bit a bit of a bite from the pepper and finishes a touch mouth-coating. Some chili heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is alright, like most of their vertical series. Enjoyed this one as much as the others for the most part, and the chilies were done well too. Not something I’d have to track down again, but certainly a nice, lower ABV adjunct stout. Give it a chance if you’re a fan of chili stouts. Thanks again, claaark!

Dark chocolate colored with a half finger of mocha foam that leaves little lacing.
Roasted stout aroma, with the lactose addition of a milk stout evident, a touch of cocoa and just a hint of the chili and cinnamon.
The taste is largely the same. Roasty milk stout up front; some fairly sweet chocolate mid-palate; and then a decently spicy kick on the backend that builds in the aftertaste. Fresh, I assume, would be pretty hot. This is probably right at the top end of being an artful addition before you get into "extreme beer" territory.
Maybe a tad thin for contemporary imperial stouts, but I'd still say this is medium bodied with some slight creaminess to it.
Pretty solid, especially if you like the heat. Amazing bottle art and cool tag, too. 07/08, 131/1600.

Pours pitch black with a small foamy khaki head that dissapers immediately. Smells of roasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon and light pepper. Tastes of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, the finish gives just a hint of pepper heat. Medium
Body and carbonation, creamy mouthfeel as finish. Pepper is subtle but a nice compliment.

Awesome imperial milk stout, great English yeast character with beautiful fruit ester meets bready and chocolate malts and cacao. Sweet and full mouthfeel from the lactose and well tempered spicing from the pepper.

Pours black with a finger of a dense and dark mocha, almost reddish, creamy head.
Aroma consists of light bakers chocolate, milk chocolate, roasted malt, little coffee, lactose sugary and milky sweetness, cinnamon spice, and a light chili pepper heat.
Taste consists of cinnamon spice, milk chocolate, a very light bakers chocolate, roasted malt, slight coffee, a sugary sweet and milky lactose sweetness, and a chili pepper heat and cinnamon spice finish with just a touch of roasty qualities.
Full body. Very creamy and smooth. The chili pepper heat prickles the palate.
One of the better Hunter variants offered. The chili pepper heat and cinnamon spice complement the base beer very well. A nicely constructed beer.
