one of the more mild saisons ive had, more like a pale ale meets a saison than anything else really, very average malt body, not all wheat, looking more copper than straw colored, and having some pretty good weighty depth and sweet body to it. the only thing that really makes this a saison from my perspective is the yeast, which is both subtle and distinct. very mellow flavors, way low ester compared to many others, and not finishing quite as quick, although the beer is dry. shine is so focused on other apects of their business from the tinctures to the food and the venue part, that maybe the beer gets lost a little. it certainly doesnt get promoted like a brewery, although all the beers are quite good. this one is better in context than in isolation, and is nice and light as a palate warmup for the fine food at shine. outside of that im not sure it holds up well, but its clean in feel and easy drinking enough to have a few with a big meal. i have no problem with it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
