I love the cherry tart balance here. There’s a hint of smoke too. Wonderful complexity as well. Worth seeking out.

Brownish black with an initial burst of fluffy tan foam. Short lived, it fades away quickly with minimal spotty lace.
Subdued aroma, but some chocolate malt and campfire smoke are present. Carob and mild coffee.
Taste is lightly tart with an acidic cherry and complex smouldering cherry bark smoke that dovetails nicely with the dark fruit and malts. Big tannic presence from the wine barrels. Medium bodied and smooth, finishes dry. Vague note of bakers chocolate in the aftertaste.
Very well done, interesting complex flavors that play well together. If you liked the woodsmoke elements of Single Tree Hickory, I highly recommend this.
2020 bottle is much more sour, less smoke and a strong sour cherry element.
