Greenwood Vermont Style IPA is a vibrant, juicy nod to the hazy beers of the green mountain state and a tribute to our neighbourhood. Generous additions of Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra hops amplify tropical flavours of fresh, ripe peaches, orange and pineapple, ending with a refreshingly full body and lasting finish.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned April 28/25. My 22nd beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 13th for 2026. Lovingly embraced by Gracie the cat...

I bought a can of this last summer at the LCBO and brought it back home. It is an OK hazy style, dry with a little fruit bitterness. It's a bit thin. It seems more like a pale ale than an IPA.

Pours a nice orange yellow IPA color. Hazy and yeasty. Not much foam to the beer. Smells of pineapple and mango juice.
Taste is pretty good. You get a good amount of orange zest, hoppy and floral flavors. The bitterness level works well for this beer. If your a fan of IPA beers then you would like this one. If you don't like IPA beers, then I wouldn't try this beer at all.
I like IPA's so it's a hit for me. Good job.

Thanks Coronaeus! This was a nice surprise he sent me in NBS BIF #15. Canned 04/APR/2022
Yellow to muted gold in hue. Hazy. Fluffy white cap tops 2 fingers and slooowwly settles into thin film. Good retention, minimal lacing.
Aroma is very green right from the get go. Fresh hop like green. Initial pop is wet alfalfa, pine, grapefruit, and some pineapple.
taste follows faithfully. Initially very green hops: grass, alfalfa, and pine resin. But then some tropical notes come into the mix: pineapple, flowery lychee, lemongrass, and then some underripe pear with a mild pepper note. It's really got a lot going on. But all of it comes off as "green."
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium. The carbonation dropped off and became a bit flat. The finish is bitter, slightly herbal.
Overall, I like this one. I'd prefer a tad more balance in the mouthfeel but I do like the "green" aspect.

So I am going to be an outlier on this and I would say maybe it is just the style, but I do like many NEIPAs. Some, like this one, for me just come across with an astringent aspirin like bitterness that I struggle with - I read others say juicy, tropical but I just can't find it. Disclaimer noted so:
Pours a very hazy bright yellow golden with finger of white head.
The aroma is quite appealing with a prominent kick of hops - tropical, pineapple with pine, and a good deal of grapefruit, grapefruit peel.
Taste starts with a bit of pineapple juice sweetness and then (unnecessary add on: for me) falls off the ledge with an astringent aspirin like bitterness admixed with the sense of biting into a grapefruit peel; a bit of burn at swallow though a touch of tropical fruit tries to fight through (fails). Lacks any balancing malt sweetness.
Medium mouthfeel but nope I can't get around that bitterness. I finished this - hoping it would smooth out for me but nope.
I love an old school west coast bitterness but this just does not work for my palate, though I am sure this is well made.

Pours hazy blond with a crackly, smallish head that drapes the glass in lace. The aroma is filled with juicy, tropical hop notes - it's like a fruit salad. Mango, lychee, grapefruit, white grape, passionfruit hop flavors in the first sip. A bit of biscuity malt in the back. The mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. High bitterness and an abundance of tropical fruit in the long finish.
A fantastic IPA with a hop profile that stray from the traditional New England tropical profile. Excellent, complex, crushable and contemplative. An absolute benchmark.

L: Hazy as you would expect from a Vermont Ale style and pale yellow in colour. Frothy, uneven head recedes to a long-lasting foam collar.
S: Pineapple, orange citrus, and maybe melon. Smells inviting if not actually punching you in the face with citrus.
T: Muted citrus, grass, and astringent.
M: Carbonation just right, slightly creamy with a dry finish.
O: Very good beer. Happy.

Hazy honey yellow under a full cap, good lacing. Sweet melon-orange on the nose, a whiff of grapefruit. Appetizing. Soft on the palate. Hoppy and flavouful. Grapefruit pith. Tasty stuff.

Got this one from the LCBO this past summer
From a 355ml can into a snifter
Canned 26 June 2019
NEIPA
APPEARANCE: Pours out hazy and yields a small, foamy white head with very good retention. Cloudy canary yellow in color with no carbonation evident. Head recedes to a faint wisp and clings to the glass. A splotchy wisp remains until the end leaving decent lacing down the glass as it empties. Decent body and nice head.
SMELL: Lots of tropical fruits, with mango, pineapple and passion fruit. Nots of grass and wheat as well. Bold.
TASTE: Tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, with wheat and caramel sweetness up front. Some grassy notes at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish of wheat malt, bread, caramel notes, tropical fruits like pineapple, mango and passion fruit. Very flavorful with a touch of bitterness at the finish. Really, really good.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. Good feel.
OVERALL: This is really good stuff. A lot of these NEIPAs tend to have a really nice nose but then fall flat on the flavor, being overly bready and wheat forward. Not this one. This one has lots of good flavor with plenty of tropical character all over the place. Really nice stuff. Give it a chance if you see it. Cheers!
