355 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jan 7 2021 and served barely chilled. I love all sorts of beers, but I'm a hophead first and foremost and there are few things more satisfying to me than a fresh DIPA.
Pours a hazy lemondrop yellow hue, generating nearly one finger of soapy, foamy white head that falls apart within two minutes or so. A modest amount of stringy lace is scattered about in its wake; a thin collar and some filmy wisps on the surface also remain. Grapefruit, gooseberry and melon on the nose, with suggestions of passion fruit, lime, orange pith and flowers.
A solid DIPA by any measure - grainy, wheaty pale malts do provide a little bit of a backdrop, but it's the Nelson Sauvin hops that end up doing most of the heavy lifting here. I'm tasting white grape, grapefruit and melon at first, followed up by passion fruit, orange juice, gooseberry and syrupy pineapple into a slightly warming finish; pithy bitterness carries through into a juicy aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with moderate carbonation that lends some bite to this brew's relatively smooth mouthfeel - the 7.8% is noticeable without being a major distraction, as it integrates well with the brew's hoppy, fruity flavour profile.
Final Grade: 4.16, an A-. 10 Cent Beer Night is a no-nonsense hop bomb built upon Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops, which form the core of this beer's flavour profile and aroma. The combination of tropical fruit, citrus, and grape/berry flavour is appealing to say the least, though I don't think I'd say that it's this brewer's finest IPA - very good, sure, but I dunno about the best. $4 per small can is not cheap, but it's actually on par with most of Left Field's other products, which are almost always worth the price of admission. I'd encourage any BA who spots 10 Cent to grab a couple of cans, minimum.

Pours pale straw with a giant, rocky head that drapes the glass in lace. The aroma is redolent with mango, peach, pineapple and lychee notes. The taste follows suit with a juicy tropical fruit blast followed by clean, bready malts. Orange notes in there too. Moderate bitterness throughout. The mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Moderate bitterness in the finish.
An approachable and quaffable DIPA that covers all the bases. I’d try it again.

Review from notes. Canned November 12. LCBO purchase of a 355ml can for $3.95 CDN.
Appearance - Bright golden yellow, lots of haze and two fingers of long lasting white head.
Smell - Guava, melon, mango and touches of pineapple and grapefruit.
Taste - Same as the nose, pretty intensely tropical and initially very sweet with some bitterness shining through via grapefruit at the end.
Mouthfeel - Low carbonation, a bit syrupy and medium to heavy body.
Overall - Seriously good and worthwhile DIPA that is let down just a touch by the body of the beer.

Pours the right yellow with only lacing left for you to enjoy.
Strong apricot nose but the body veers towards blood orange, especially in the aftertaste. The hops do come out though. Very boozy feel.
