At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned May 12/25. My 14th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 5th for 2026. Wildly adored by Gracie the cat...

Pours a small foam head with a light gold color. Taste is nice. Really good beer. Glad i got this one. Little bit of bread and grain mixed with some hops. Malt flavor blends in pretty good. Super easy to drink and enjoyable too.
I'd buy this one again.

Poured a 355ml can into a pint glass. A scant one finger bubbly white head on a clear pale yellow. The head soon disappears.

Malt and corn in the nose. A bit thin up front but a stronger finish. Not much hop.

Light body and good carbonation. Overall the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. No faults and a good expression of the style.

355 ml can served ice cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3 CDN.

Appearance - Pale golden straw color, with a slight amount of haze. Pours a nice finger plus of loose white head and pretty respectable staying power.

Smell - Lots of corn, hints of caramel, definitely on the sweeter side of things with some light grassy notes and a touch of lemon zest. Goes a bit metallic after a couple sniffs.

Taste - Lots of bready and crackery goodness, some caramel sweetness but brought in by a slightly bitter leafy hop presence.

Mouthfeel - Assertive carbonation, light body easy drinking.

Overall - Definitely at least two notches above the macro swill that this can is reminiscent of. While it's not a world beater, it's a solid, well constructed blonde that is pretty tasty and easy to knock back for those hot sunny summer weekends.

355 mL can from Superstore; dated Nov 18 2020 and served barely chilled.

Pours a pale golden-yellow hue; its body has a relatively clear complexion, but there are countless sand-like floaties hovering aimlessly throughout the liquid. One finger of tight white foam holds together for a couple of minutes before disintegrating, soon reduced to a thin collar of soapy froth surrounding a thin film on the surface. Decent lace deposition - looks fine to me. Grainy pale malts and doughy, bready, lightly honeyed sweetness on the nose, with just a hint of grassy, leafy hops: smells like a straightforward blonde ale.

Which sounds about right, because it tastes like one, too. I'm getting grainy malts and bready sweetness, peppered with suggestions of lemon zest and grassy hay towards the tail end of the sip. Tastes clean, but not very interesting - though that's hardly damning for a style that is generally best suited to quenching thirst and washing down greasy grub. Light in body, with moderately low carbonation that gently brushes against the surface of the palate - feels very smooth on the tongue, making it all the more drinkable. I could easily plow through a sixer of these over the course of a baseball game, assuming I had someone else to drive my obnoxious ass home afterwards.

Final Grade: 3.70, a worthy B grade. Ice Cold Beer very much adheres to the KISS design principle - you'd be hard pressed to find a craft beer that keeps things any simpler than this. Thankfully, it's a little more affordable than Left Field's other small cans, with a price point that is basically on par with most of the other blonde ales you can find in Ontario these days. True, it's nothing fancy, but most blondes aren't - this is a well-crafted, basic yella swiller that would work just fine during a summertime afternoon at the ballpark, the backyard, the campground, etc.

Clean and simple stuff. Not quite as involved as some of the other stuff this brewery makes. I'm not fussed on blondes, but this one has more character than most. Noticeable grain and hops, decent drinking.
