Very short-lived head, no lace or anything else. Some points for an attractive peace/apricot colour that looks appetizing. Subdued fruity nose, not pushing hard at being peachy, or anything else actually. Well, maybe an unexpected (and delicious) whiff of honey if you huff on it. On the palate, very sour with a touch of dryness to follow up. But it's so sour that there's no chance for much of anything else to shine through. Nothing off about it, but not much on either.

355 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 30 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a cloudy apricot yellow colour, generating half a finger of smooth, foamy white head that fizzles within a minute or so. The surface is left utterly barren - no cap, no collar, not even a speck of lace - looks like peach drink, coincidentally. Juicy peaches and peach yogurt on the nose, with minor notes of lemon, wheaty grain and lacto funk. So far, things seem just peachy.
Quite tart - there's plenty of that peach/nectarine tartness you get from a fruit that's barely ripened, and the lactic acidity takes over from there. Wheaty grains, lemon and fuzzy peach candy also come through, with faintly floral notes preceding an aftertaste of peach juice and mild lactic acidity. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that feels brisk and biting on the tongue. Smooth and crisp, with decent drinkability - pretty refreshing, too.
Final Grade: 3.84, a B+. Just like the other Squeeze Play variants I've tried in the past, I'm comfortable saying that Peach is a good sour, but I don't think I'd call it a great one. On the plus side, it does the fruit itself justice, providing both juicy-sweet and sour-candy peach flavours - and that's a big plus, because the lion's share of peach beers I've had in the past have been underwhelming. On the down side, it's a straightforward experience without much nuance, and the lactic sharpness does limit its drinkability somewhat. If you like peach sours, this is worth your time for sure, and I plan to keep a can or two in the back of the fridge - peaches are one of my favourite summer fruits, so who knows when I'll get that craving?
