473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 20 2025 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear, pale straw yellow colour, sporting one inch of bubbly, foamy white head that fizzles within ninety seconds. A sickly thin collar is the only survivor, save for some sparse wisps of film on the surface; essentially no lace. Basic light lager aromas of grainy malts, puffed rice cereal, bread and subtle grassiness; smells cleaner than average for the style.

Something similar can be said of the flavour profile, which is clean and inoffensive, but otherwise uninventive. Grainy pale malts and cereal sweetness are the main notes, with hints of grassy hops and plain rice cakes on the back end. Light-ish in body, with moderately lively carbonation that adds some spritz to this light lager's smooth, relatively fulfilling mouthfeel. Easy to drink one after another, but that can be said of virtually any light lager.

Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. Leafs Lager is a pretty good light beer, but is that enough to differentiate it from the countless alternatives out there? Probably not, though the label might help a little. I think your average light beer lover could drink this with no complaint, but looking at this through a more practical lens, the price point presents a significant obstacle. I'm not saying this is a ripoff - lagering a beer takes time, and Left Field needs to make money, after all - but I don't think the folks buying light beer by the case will be inclined to pay 30-40% more for something that's only a bit better. Unless they're a captive audience, e.g. at a stadium... in which case, pay up, suckers!

473ml can poured into barrel mug. Canned on July 07, 2025. 4.2% ABV

Pale yellow, straw colour. Not transparent, but can still make out fingers on the other side of the glass. little streams lead to a white cap that fades fairly quick.

faint smell of sweet grains & corn. has kind of a funky sweetness that isn't terribly appealing. the smell somehow gets worse the more I drink it.

taste is a very very faint musty hops bitterness up front, followed by slightly metallic sweetness. Body is fairly light in the grand scheme of things, but relatively full for a light beer actually.

Not a bad tasting beer, although the smell is off-putting. Taste is comparable to other light beers: the one advantage Leafs Lager has going for it is the body, which is decent. I have to imagine that this beer is light only in ABV, rather than calories. All that being said, it doesn't taste that good, and the price point for this beer is really high for what plays like a cheap light beer. Left Field's flagship Ice Cold Beer is cheaper, similar ABV, and much better tasting IMO.

Pours a light straw color. Not much foam at all. Very little aroma to the beer.
Taste is not bad at all. A little malty. A little grainy. I usually like beers like these.
It's a decent one with some flavor to it. Of course there are better beers out there but there are certainly worse beers as well. I'd consider picking this one up again if other options are not available.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My third beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and first for 2025.

I bought 2 cans at LCBO in Ontario Canada 355ml at 4.2%.
Poured into glass with a one finger head a very light and enjoyable beer to drink very easy .
Ingredients water ,malted barley,rice flakes,hops,yeast.
Leaves a very small lace as you are drinking it .
Maybe I should try watching a leaf game while I am drinking this .
Anyways the beer is good and probably would buy it again for a party

Poured a 355ml can into a pint glass. A scant one finger head on a clear pale yellow. The head soon disappears. No lacing.

Rice malt in the nose. The taste is very mild but not unpleasant.

Light body and good carbonation. True to the style. A excellent hot weather swiller.
