Just like the neon-green frozen slush you remember, Sno-Cone Gose is briskly sour on the first sip and then mellows into the zesty citrus zing of a freshly opened popsicle. But unlike the original ballpark treat, Sno-Cone is made with real Key Lime and Meyer Lemon fruit purées, coriander and salt, to keep you quenched and refreshed. The only thing missing is a green tongue and brain freeze!

Body is unfiltered, opaque, dull gold, forming a white, fizzy head with low retention.
Zesty, fresh, lemon and lime flavour, like a sprite or key lime pie.
Like drinking a margarita, with sour lime and lemon prominently coupled with distinct salt, which also contributes to the soft mouthfeel; sharp, prickly carbonation.

Super refreshing, appropriately zesty, a wonderful summer quencher.

355 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jun 17 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy medium-golden hue, with nearly an inch of soapy, foamy white head rising from the surface. Within a few minutes, it has been reduced to a thin collar and a filmy cap, with a narrow ring of lace clinging to the glass; looks fine so far. Mostly lime-ade on the nose, with added hints of (Meyer) lemon, coriander, brine and lemon candy sweetness.

Interesting flavour profile: a bit tame on the forefront, but becoming seriously sour on the back end, particularly on the first sip. It starts with notes of wheaty, bready malts and Meyer lemon, with salt water, lime-ade and lime zest not far behind. Quite tart on the back end, with lactic acidity, coriander, lemon juice and lime-ade lasting through the finish and dissipating into an acidic, zesty, rather persistent aftertaste that I found charming. Light-ish in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains prickly and crisp right down to the last couple of gulps. Too sour to be a reasonable session option, but it's refreshing and a pleasure to drink.

Final Grade: 4.04, an A-. Left Field's Sno-Cone Lemon Lime is not your typical gose: sure, the salt and coriander are present and accounted for, but it's the Meyer lemon and key lime purées that seize the reins and run with it. This is not necessarily a beer I need to drink on a regular basis, but if I were in the mood for a lime sour, this would totally be near the top of my list. Strongly recommended if you're a fan of lemon-lime sours, or if you're simply looking for an extra-tart brew to sate your appetite for acidity.

Poured a 355ml can into a pilsner glass. A two finger fine white head on a cloudy gold. The head soon diminishes to a thin layer. Minimal lacing.

Strong limeade smell.

A strong limeade taste up front. Some stone fruit. Peach and apricot. Lacto sour and a moderate salt finish.

Medium light body and good carbonation.

I find the sour lime overpowering. This strays so far from a traditional Liepzig Gose that it is almost a Kettle Sour.

355ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for $3.75 CDN.

Appearance - Hazy dark golden brew with a finger plus of fizzy (and hissing) white head. It only lingers for a minute or two before dissipating completely. Lots of effervescence.

Smell - Huge lemon-lime aroma with perceivable intensity and tartness.

Taste - Very tart lemon and lime flavors, wheat backbone, a kiss of salt and then folding in just a trace of sweetness at the end. Highly refreshing.

Mouthfeel - Very fizzy and bubbly, light in body and quite crushable.

Overall - A well conceived gose with ample lemon and lime and tartness, with some balance and a perfect blend of saltiness to cap the whole beer off.
