Brewed in collaboration with beloved broadcaster Dan Shulman and big league manager John Schneider, Frozen Rope is a full-bodied and mega-juicy IPA with big flavours of sticky, juicy mango, papaya and tangerine with a mild herbal note of chamomile. We dry-hopped with Citra and Simcoe Cryo Hops for their intense hop flavour and aroma and low hop bitterness, making this an extra frosty IPA that is right on target. Contains Wheat. Ballpark Pairings Mozzarella Sticks, Orange Sorbet.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. No date stamp or lot number. My 7th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 5th for 2025. Endorsed by Sundae the cat...

Pours deep hazy yellow with a chunky, long lasting head. Lemon and grapefruit abound in the aroma along with mango, berry and pine hop notes. Lemon, lime and grapefruit in the taste along with pale malt bready notes in the taste. The mouthfeel is full bodied with high carbonation. High bitterness and loads of citrus in the everlasting finish.
A fantastic American IPA. Aggressively hoppy yet redolent with fruitiness.

355 mL can from the LCBO; dated Sep 12 2024 and served barely chilled. Reviewed from notes taken last December.
Pours a foggy apricot yellow colour, scaring up nearly two fingers of lumpy, foamy white head that lasts for more than five minutes. Plenty of lace deposition, with a frothy collar and thin cap holding steady. Simcoe-heavy aroma of berries, pine and earthy hops; bready malts and grapefruit are also discernible, as well as a whiff of ethanol.
A neat IPA, straddling the line between east and west, but ultimately leaning in the latter direction. Bready, wheaty pale malts provide some background sweetness, with flavours of cantaloupe, passion fruit, grapefruit and orange peel also coming through. Piney, earthy hops and herbal tea are also present, particularly on the back end, concluding with a bitter, pithy, resiny aftertaste that lingers for a moment. On the fuller side of medium-bodied, with restrained carbonation that contributes to this brew's fluffy-soft, smooth mouthfeel. Limited drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.94, a B+. Frozen Rope is a darn solid hop bomb that I think West Coast IPA fans will adore. The Citra hops take a backseat, with Simcoe dictating the pace - this is not a nuanced IPA, nor is it particularly unique, yet it embodies so much of what I love about this style. Will definitely keep an eye out for fresh stock, but Greenwood's seven-year streak as my favourite Left Field IPA remains unbroken.

Poured into glass with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it.
Nice orange and fruit flavors with a perfect bitterness level
Very enjoyable beer to drink especially on a hot day .

Part of the 6 pack from Left Field. Canned September 12, 2024. Served cold into a goblet.
Appearance - Hazy fleshy orange/peach colored beer with a finger or two of head on top. Quickly recedes to a small soapy collar.
Smell - Coconut and pineapple with some dank grapefruit. Fairly intense in aroma.
Taste - Orange and grapefruit with a hint of coconut. Fairly bitter and remains so throughout each sip. Mixed malt base of wheat and barley backing things up.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and spritzy in carbonation, medium full bodied. A zestiness is present that isn't always there in IPA's.
Overall - Solid addition to the mixed pack and enjoyable IPA, although I think Power Alley is my favorite from this collection (outside of the always good Greenwood).
