Brewed in collaboration with our fellow craft-beer lovers at Beertown, Home & Away Hazy APA was crafted for bold aroma and juicy haze. Featuring Cryo Citra, Krush, Ontario Centennial hops, and DynaBoost Citra hop extract for maximum flavour and sky-high drinkability, Home & Away has aromas of guava, pineapple and grapefruit with pine and spice hop flavours up front, finishing with white peach and citrus pith flavours and a smooth, light mouthfeel.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Sep 29 2025 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy pale yellow colour, topped with one finger of foamy, sparkling white head that dissipates within three or four minutes. A thin cap and frothy collar hold steady, with a modest smattering of lace produced as the level drops. The aroma is fruity and somewhat candy-sweet, offering up notes of lemonade, peach, melon and lychee.
There are some intense flavours here, mostly courtesy of the Krush hops and the Citra concentrates. I'm getting honeydew melon, lime and passion fruit, with hints of guava, white peach, mango and lemon peel coming through by mid-sip. The malts are pretty quiet, providing a faint, wheaty backdrop; finishes with floral hop bitterness, lemon candy and melon leading into a tropical-fruity aftertaste that trends off-dry. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains lively for the entirety of the session, adding lots of prickliness to this hazy pale ale's smooth, airy mouthfeel. Very crushable; I could enjoy a couple of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.96, a B+. Home & Away isn't one of the best Left Field pale ales I've ever had, but I think it's a solid one nonetheless. I've had mixed experiences with Cryo Citra, but I think the Krush hops make an excellent complement, adding notes of stone fruit and guava that reinforce this pale ale's juicy, fruity flavour profile. I'd buy this again if I came across some fresh stock, and I encourage other BAs to give it a try for themselves. Cheers!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned August 27/25. My 15th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2026. Ridiculously recommended by Gracie the cat...
