Canned 3/15/19

Pours a slightly cloudy but translucent golden straw body topped with a large, bright bone-white head of soapy foam; solid retention leaves a paper-thin cap, light frothy collar, and a stringy/spotty layering of lacing around the glass.

Aromas open florally, with some grassy tones as well as clean straw and wheat bread as sweet malts with a touch of herbal bitterness quickly encroaches to dominate the bouquet.

Taste offers a soft profile of mild grain building to bits of sweet corn soon overtaken by fresh grass and bittering herbal tones through the finish.

Mouthfeel shows a light body with light-moderate carbonation; flaky and incredibly crisp throughout; a more comprehensive finish of smooth malts intertwined with appropriately gritty bittering.

'Clean' and 'easy-drinking' are seeming prerequisites for the style, but this one executes those elements with a preciseness and malt/hop nuance leaving it a step above most; a little dose of everything offered light, extremely crushable package.

a simple but well made beer here, and i like the idea of calling it a recreation ale instead of say a session beer, which i think has basically died as a called out style right? this is a cream ale with quite a bit of character, not just yellow beer, it has an appreciable yeast aspect to it, especially in the finish, and drinks like a patiently conditioned lager, crisp and snappy, really beyond the level that cream ale usually gets to with that, which i really like. it makes this an excellent companion for the spicy chicken wings in here, which are some of my favorites anywhere! there is a light noble type hop profile to it, and a simple dry cereal malt base with a little bit of european character to it and some minerals underneath. basic and clean overall, refreshingly well carbonated, dry, and a good drinker for all seasons. they have a lot of really robustly flavored beers in here, so its also nice to have something so light on the menu. very well executed from a technical standpoint, even if its less exciting than most of the others they brew here...

Look: The beer is slightly cloudy and translucent. Pale gold. A bone white heat that rises to a couple fingers, settling to a thin layer across the top. Some visible carbonation.

Smell: My first thought when opening the can was “lager.” A mild nose of sweet, bready and grainy malt. A bit corny. A spicy, earthy element that reminds me of German hops. The beer gets very bready as it warms.

Taste: A very mild beer. As it warms up I get a honey, corn bread sweetnes. The finish is semi-sweet. Zero bitterness.

Feel: Moderate level of carbonation but a pretty full bodied beer for something that I’m guessing is 4% - 5%.

Overall: An enjoyable beer. Clean and crisp. My original thought when smelling the beer right out of the can was “lager.” I suppose it could be an American Adjunct Lager. Or a Cream Ale. It reminds a lot of Carton’s Canoe and Rabaska cream ales. More so the former.

On draught at Wyoming Aleworks.

Pours a clear straw gold with small head of foam and lacing.

Smells of grain and a balanced sweet bitter thing.

Tastes of grain but not corn, earthy semi sweet malt and a touch of bitterness.

Light bodied with ample carbonation.

Easy drinking and tasty enough. Cream Ales seem to be getting more popular. Cool.

The color is a pale yellow akin to a Pilsner. The smell is fruity and creamy. This beer goes down very smooth and is very drinkable
