473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Purchased from the LCBO for $2.90 CDN.
Appearance - Pours a crystal clear pale golden colored with three quarters of a finger of white head on top. Poor head retention and fairly lively visible carbonation. No lacing to speak of either.
Smell - Clean and grainy although lacking a certain vinous characteristic I've found with most other Kolsch's. A tiniest hint of pear in behind all the grain.
Taste - Clean and simple, nice steady grain malts with a slight bit of caramel, and a light fruitiness indicating pear or apple.
Mouthfeel - Smooth with lower than average carbonation making for an easy beer to knock back. Light body and nice drying finish. Great feel for a summer time beer.
Overall - Kilannan Kolsch is not my favorite kolsch, but it is certainly easy to drink with a light and thin body. Solid summer beer.

Purchased at the LCBO for just under the $3.00 for a 473ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass
A- Opens well and pours a tiny head that is gone faster than I can put the empty can down. Extremely light gold colour and filtered clear
S- Nice malt and hops here.
T- A bit light for a kolsch. Has some malt to it and hops but just a plain jane brew that does not have much character. Hint of metallic taste.
M- Dry and crisp
O- Not so good. Will not buy again
Food Pairing
This ok at best brew went well with..... Grilled cheese sandwiches with a touch of thinly sliced salami, tomato, onion and cheese
Enjoy

473 mL can from the LCBO, picked up on the way home from a camping trip not far from Owen Sound. Packaged May 5 2015, and served well-chilled.
Pours a moderately hazy, pale straw-yellow colour, producing one finger of soapy, bright white-coloured froth at the surface. Retention is alright; the head lasts for more than a few minutes, slowly dissipating until only a filmy, foamy cap and modest-sized collar of froth remain - no lacing to speak of. The aroma is subtle and very clean, providing mild notes of pale grainy barley malt, grassy hay and, well, not a whole lot else. Maybe some apple as it warms up. Very straightforward nose, but it just smells so... wholesome that I am willing to accept the beauty of its simplicity.
The flavour profile follows the nose quite closely, offering up a profile that is abundant with clean, pale pilsner malts that provide a grainy, crackery sweetness. There are vague suggestions of apple and white grape in the background mid-sip, but the noble hops - with their grassy, mildly spicy bite - more accurately characterize the back end. Noticeably bitter, but not especially so - with a beautifully dry finish. This light-bodied kölsch drinks like a dream, and the assertive carbonation levels provide it with the perfectly appropriate level of crispness. I like this beer, but I am not sure I would consider it especially representative of the style.
Final Grade: 3.63, a worthy B grade. Kilannan Kölsch is a lovely, refreshing, easy-drinking blonde ale that goes down as easily as any light beer. As a kölsch, I can't say it's anything more than a serviceable example of the style - but as a summer staple, it more than meets my needs. If you're passing by or through Owen Sound this summer to hit up the cottage or campground, this is a solid option that I would really consider giving a try. In fact, I am thinking about getting a case of this stuff the next time I head up to the Bruce.

Appearance: Poured with a finger of head that sustained admirably, but did not lace. The body shows steady carbonation, but is a bit on the sickly yellow side.
Smell: Straw malt with a wet grassy hop backing mixed in with a backing of peppercorns. Warming marginally assists the brew's nose.
Taste: Starts with sweet straw malt with a lemon touch and then quickly adds a dry pepper note that's quickly opposed by moist grassy and earthy hops. Solid stuff
Mouthfeel: The mix of dry and moist leaves you interested and the carbonation assists the entire beer. The transistioning is a little rocky, but it makes up for it with a nice blended aftertaste that doesn't overstay it's welcome.
Drinkability: This stuff is easy to get down and a welcome alternative to generic Lager for a hot summer's day. Light bodied, but with flavor and sits down quite well.
Final Thoughts: I'm actually a little bit perplexed that the brewer opted to treat their alt as their flagship as opposed to this stuff. This seems like a much better beer with a much more broader appeal, especially so close to cottage country where Owen Sound resides. Thumbs up
