This beer sounds wonderfully weird. A coffee bacon oatmeal stout? Hell yeah, sign me up! I've only had 1 beer from this brewery before and wasn't impressed, but this is interesting enough where even if it isn't great I'll still be happy I tried it
Pours a muddy dark brown with 2 fingers of brown head that fades to a thin ring and leaves no lacing at all
On the nose, it's hard to pin down if it's bacon or just heavily smoked malt, but it seems intriguing. I'm picking up on aromas of smoky beechwood, salty meat, lightly acidic coffee, dark chocolate, and a touch of caramel sweetness
The bacon/smoke isn't quite as heavy in the taste as it is in the aroma but it definitely still has some presence. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting creamy vanilla, roasty coffee, a hint of smoke, dark chocolate, and subtle dark fruit. The swallow brings notes of toast, smoky bacon, dark chocolate, earthy hops, and lingering notes of acidic coffee and smoked wood
A medium full body pairs with very mild carbonation, resulting in a surprisingly silky beer for the smokiness, likely due to the oats, which don't bring much of anything to the taste but improve the feel. Finishes mostly dry and astringent
Man this one was fucking weird. Not at all bad, but it's a lot to take on. I couldn't drink very much of it but it goes down relatively easy given all that's happening here

pours black with sudsy head that is gone rather quickly. nose is nice strong roasty malt. not getting much coffee. taste is smooth roasted malts with virtually no coffee cept for minimally at the end. thin mouthfeel is prob due to the light abv. this beer is underwhelming and in a world of exceptional stout offerings this is a miss. it's not bad. but why bother when you could grab one of many better stouts any day of the week. can is cool though.

Shebeen Brewing Co. "Java Pig Stout"
12 fl. oz. can, no apparent freshness dating
$2 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA
Appearance: Brown-black body with deep mahogany highlights beneath a frothy tan head. Excellent head retention. Average lacing.
Aroma: Moderate coffee aroma. Smoky, but not like Beechwood, I'm thinking Applewood. Chocolatey and lightly caramelish.
Flavor: As the aroma suggests with much more coffee present. I don't know if it's dark malt acidity or smoke but there's something I find distracting; and I think I'm finding it both in flavor and mouthfeel. Coffee and caramel linger shortly in the finish with an additional note of fruitiness. It's bitter, and smoky and a little acidic.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation that gently tingles the tongue and then fades away. Coffee and caramel linger shortly in the finish with an additional note of fruitiness. It's bitter, and smoky and a little acidic.
Overall: The smokiness is interesting, but perhaps problematic as it stands in my opinion. Still, not a bad glass of beer.

A - Pitch black pour plus a thick, dense creamy lacing ring.
S - Sweet dark chocolate roast, some smokiness, coffee, some faint creme.
T - Smoke, charcoal, dark roasted chocolate, some bacon presence, and a lingering dark coffee chocolate roast bitterness with some pine.
M - Big medium body.
O - This is a great easy drinking stout. Will definitely buy more.

Undated 12 oz can.
A: The body is a very dark brown color, opaque and nearly black in the glass. A medium size beige head that has decent retention leaves a partial coat of lace on the glass with each tip.
Aroma: mild but near moderately strong; hints of coffee, dark bread, smoked ham and molasses.
Flavor: Surprising smokey with a suggestion of BBQ pork; I attribute this to smoked malts until reading the can where I see "bacon". Light black coffee builds in strength into the finish and mildly bitter aftertaste. Some hints of dark chocolate and toffee.
Feel: Full and very smooth; medium body; near medium carbonation.
Overall: a smokey breakfast stout. .

This is very surprisingly delicious and well made. Surprising because I haven't ever heard of it... Or really the brewery besides their black IPA which was pretty alright. Anyways pours black with a two finger khaki head. Dissolves quick with just little specs left behind on the glass. The smell is very much roasted malt.. Surprising not much coffee aroma but you do get some cooked bacon smells. Taste is actually pretty different to me.. Still very roasty but much more coffee especially on the back end followed up by bacon. The bacon creeps up which I love.. Found that between sipping, my mouth has full bacon taste. Very interesting overall taste wise. The feel is pretty nice a little more carbonated than your average stout. Not a bad thing at all and a full body feel definetely. Overall I'm extremely impressed, glad I took a chance and bought a sixer not a single. Would suggest to any stout lover
