16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$3.49 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: So this is labeled as a "Farmhouse New England India Pale Ale", whatever that means. It's poured a very cloudy amber-orange color beneath a full head of fluffy white foam. The aroma is bright and displays both the fruity and spicy farmhouse yeast and the citrusy/tropical hops. Unfortunately there's so much yeast there that it comes of as very yeasty, and "green". That aspect isn't pleasant. If this had been filtered, or even just allowed to drop bright I'm sure it would smell fantastic, but then it wouldn't be an NEIPA would it? On to the flavor... as expected that extra bit of yeast remains, and in my opinion, destroys the beer - although I will say that the flavor is better than the aroma. It's not as fruity from the yeast as I'd have expected given the aroma, but to a certain extent that might be because the actual yeast is dampening it. The hop flavors seem muted as well, but I don't know if that's from the yeast or just the amount of hops they used, when they used them, and so on. I'm finding apple, lemon/lime, orange, and berry. It's balanced nicely as far as bitterness goes, but then I get that yeast again in the finish and it throws it off. It finishes yeasty, earthy, and spicy-dry. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. Overall this is a drain-pour for me. Number one I don't like either the aroma or the flavor because of all of the extra yeast, and number two, I'm concerned that so much yeast might lead to some bathroom issues that I'd rather avoid. It has some potential, but just leaving yeast in to call it a NEIPA was probably not a good idea.
