Bought this at a grocery store in Richmond before Christmas. Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Dark clear brown color with decent head and lacing. Slightly earthy chocolate smell and taste. A bit of booziness, some bourbon notes. Goes really well with a hearty soup. Nice winter beer!

Filled a growler in MD. Pours a clear brown with minimal head. Smells mostly of spice. Tastes very much as described: sweet initially and then some heat kicks in from the habanero. There's a pretty good balance there. I'm not sure how you'd distinguish the habanero from the horseradish, but there's a nice kick, which is what they were going for. The saltiness from the celery salt is faintly present. I'm not sure how the "crushed tomatoes" play in but it certainly has a Bloody Mary taste. I can't say I've ever had a beer similar to this; it definitely doesn't classify as a brown ale, but maybe more of a vegetable beer. Either way I'd recommend it to a friend if they liked a beer with a kick.

Bottle (ghost 202 I think):
Pours clear dark burgundy, judging by the edges. Head is an okay size, light tan, and lasts at edges providing some lacing.
Nose isn't very strong, and not very brown ale-like. There is a general vegetal nature to what if I get, maybe the tomato? Also a hint of honey.
The taste actually has a little chocolate hint to it before the honey and tomato make an appearance. A little earthiness hits mid taste, perhaps the horseradish? Unfortunately no bite from the root and no heat from the habanero-and I think a little would've gone a long way here.
Medium body, nice light carbonation, perfectly ok feel that could've had some spice bite to improve my rating.
An ok oddball brown vegetable beer, but seems there is room for improvement.

More roasty, less horseradish/bloody mary than the Three Notch'd version
