Appearance: dark walnut to mahogany color. dark but well shy of black. a half finger or maybe less of a tan head fades quickly and leaves behind a slight lacing. dark and opaque due to the color.
Smell: mostly brown sugar and bourbon. hints of dark fruits.
Taste: opens with a strongly oaky bourbon. brown sugar and some additional sweetness. slightly hints at a dark fruit jelly.
Mouthfeel: fairly light. slightly astringent, some light warmth.
Overall: the beer itself get kinda lost in this one and the bourbon is not quite enough to take center stage and bring this one together. the balance isn't quite right and its just too thin. not the best lead in on Adroit Theory for me.
