375 ml bottle into a snifter.
Pours a cloudy amber color, not much of a head, some soapy lacing. Smell brings malt, whiskey, oak, some vanilla, some dates, light cherry aroma. Taste pretty much follows the nose with the malt, whiskey, oak and vanilla. Also caramel, some dates and brown sugar. Smooth, good body, appropriate level of carbonation.
Liked this a lot, although I didn't get a lot of barleywine characteristics from it. The whiskey pretty much dominates and the depth of flavor you associate with the style is lacking a bit. But I did like it a lot. I just may be rating it too high.
