The beer pours a nice and creamy light brown head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a dark and opaque dark chocolate. It has an average look for the style and gets the job done but don't expect to be wowed by its appearance.
The smell is fairly good and interesting. It has a decent sweet dark chocolate note and light cocoa mixing with a particularly powerful tart cherry note. While there is a light and bitter hop note, the hops seems to be overwhelmed by the tart, which isn't too bad.
The taste is just as good as the smell. The beer has a sweet dark chocolate note with a bit of light cocoa that mixes well with the strong tart cherry note. There is also a light hop note that is also covered by the tart.
The feel is good but, like the appearance, it's not very impressive. The carbonation is fairly light to give it some texture and while it is heavy bodied, the beer does not have much heft to it. Still, it makes for a nice session given how drinkable it feels.
Overall, the major strengths of this beer are the taste and smell. The tart cherry note really adds something to this beer and definitely worth it. If AT ever brews it again, go for it.
