The beer pours almost no head and whatever head that does manifest is the result of the nucleation point in the stout glass. The beer itself isn't too bad to look at with a nice black color that closely resembles a very dark brown. The texture is a bit flat and there isn't much of a sheen to it nut it isn't bad too look at.

The smell and taste are good. The beer has a dominate dark chocolate note to it while the raspberry note is moderate and upfront but doesn't taste as fake as most other raspberry notes. This one is a bit fruity and sugary but not overtly sweet. The toasted coconut is there but a bit faint and gets lost in the dark chocolate quite often. Still, the notes are very nice.

The feel is a bit lackluster but not bad by any means. The beer has very little carbonation and, as a result, there isn't much texture to it. The body is heavy with a slight thickness to it that creates a slightly syrup note.

Overall, the beer has a fantastic taste and smell to it but the lack of any interesting texture detracts from the beer. Still, it was worth joining the BHS for it.
