On tap at brewery:
Pours a pale pink. The head was overwhelming as I have seen watching a few pours. That might lead to the slightly flat, but smooth, almost nitro feel. It also leads to a nice pink-hued head.
Nose of raspberry, fairly distinct. Perhaps because the base beer gives it room to show. There is a corn note as well, that flitters between popcorn and creamed corn (a little more the former).
Taste opens with the raspberry, but it's still obviously a beer. It's an accent, even if it is a solid one. The cream ale base lets the raspberry run its course, then canned corn notes well up from underneath.
So, as a beer with an additive, this does a fine job. It's a light beer in a style that's not in your face, and does have a certain watery aspect. But to me, these aren't out of line and so I found myself both enjoying and appreciating this beer.
