Perfumed smoke fills the void of warrior helmets in preparation for an honorable beheading. Break of day will deliver certain bloodshed, enemies alongside allies. Hesitatian blurring with anticipation, the servant my eyes awake waiting…

The moon rests its head
Their breath still as the night air
Rising sun beckons

Tasting notes:
Thick, dank, pine, orange peel aromatics, juicy sweetness.

The beer pours a white and creamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is pretty good to look at with a nice and hazy medium orange with yellow notes all around. The smell and taste are both very good and extremely tropical. Both have notes of a subtle pineapple mixing with the sweet alcohol. The orange note is fairly sweet and has a good creamy and slightly sugary sweet malt note to it. There is a slight pine dankness in the finish but, for the most part, it's all tropical. The beer has a medium body but with a bit of heft and is extremely creamy for the style. Overall, a pretty TIPA and a bit different from what you normally find. Worth it.

In town from Denver. Asked the server for her picks in local IPA she said she really liked this but was on the high ABV side. My favorite IIPA is Avery's Maharaja at 10.5 so went for it even though it was a triple. Very nice and happy I am walking.

On tap at brewery, two days old:
Triple IPA in the "NE style"
Uniformly hazy, though it takes the thinner parts of the pour to see through. A decent head of tight small bubble. Specks on the surface make nice designs, though most bubbles have migrated to the thick ring.

Nose is a bit hot at this point. Sure, it's a TIPA, but I'm hoping this aspect fades quickly in the bottle. Behind it, grapefruit, guava, citrus rind. There is a decently strong pine note, but combined with the alcohol scent, it starts to lean Pine-Sol - which is the wrong way to lean for me.

I initially get a nicely mixed hairy navel impression on the first sip. The heat isn't as bad as I'd expected, but the alcohol is noted. Funny I get a little peach mid-taste (but not fuzzy navel, the peach is not sweet like the liqueur that makes up such a drink. Citrus rind and generic tropical fruit in the back, this never gets very bitter at all.

Juicy beer, and one where the flavor and feel do not suffer from the ABV. Too bad the nose does a bit. The feel is above medium body, and fairly soft with the slightest lingering heat.

I liked the original edition better, but I think this is a beer worth trying if the 10.5% doesn't scare you off.
