L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Very good lacing.
S: A solid aroma of roasted malt, hops, some chocolate, and dark fruit as well.
T: Tasted of a lot of hops (more than expected, given the style), a fair amount of roasted malt, lots of chocolate, a bit of dark fruit (plums, perhaps), and light coffee notes. To me, this tasted more like an American Black Ale than an imperial stout. Nonetheless, it's smooth and it grows on you after awhile.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a super dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: While this is a beer that doesn't necessarily fit within its style's parameters, it is certainly drinkable. Worth a look.
