Tropical Flavors and Exotic Citrus Flavors meet a semi-sweet body, subtle tartness, hint of salinity. The Illusion of Safety? ...Or should we say the mirage that is our existence? Day in and day out, never deviating from the numbing routine of eat | work | sleep | repeat. Living in complete delusion that material possessions matter. That money, power, and status denote our individual worth. Battling the constant gravitation toward the inevitable; our empty luggage of a carcass - void of meaning, strewn across a deserted highway. The shell we once knew, now a home for the carrion birds.

this is a really outstanding gose, with the passion fruit radiant and fresh in it, the lacto sourness clean and tidy and sharp, and the salt complimenting both aspects really well. not sure i have had a sour beer from these guys before, but this is really well done. the passion fruit is ripe and juicy, tart and very forward in the flavor experience. i get a lot less of the guava, more of a light tropical juicy sweetness from that, just a more mild flavor than the passion fruit is. light wheat base to it, simple and delicate, not much body from it, but the high carbonation and the long finish make it not seem to thin to me. it might be a little too sour or passion fruity to be refreshing like a more traditional basic gose would be, but they have elevated the style with the intense fruit and tang, and my lady and i both really dug this one. brine and lemon, bacterial acidity, and fresh fruit to finish, minerals and tartness, its very sour, but the fruit sweetness helps it stay pretty drinkable. one of the better fruited gose types in my recent experience...

This looks like a fruit smoothie. I'm pretty sure they just blended up some passion fruit and guava, added a little beer, and called it a day. Not the prettiest beer but you can tell they were not kidding about the fruit. In all seriousness, I've had both Illusion of Safety versions so far and I hope I get to try any others they make.

L: Poured from a growler to a cylinder glass. Had a dull yellow color and a thick, cloudy texture. There was a small amount of foamy / fizzy head that quickly dissipated. Sparse lacing.

S: A nice and fruity aroma of the advertised passion fruit and guava, as well as salt, wheat, and citrus.

T: Tasted of a bit of wheat (less than some goses), a lot of passion fruit, an equally large amount of guava, bit of salt (mostly in the finish), and citrus (a lemony tinge). An extremely sweet, well-balanced flavor that's quite refreshing. It's very much a fruit-centric taste, but this isn't a problem.

F: A highly carbonated beer with a lively finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is a well made, easy to drink gose. Definitely a good summer beer.

WOW! This thing is killer.

1 Pint 6 fl oz bottle poured into a goblet

L - Deep, cloudy light orange
S - Passion fruit and guava are assaulting the nose (in a good way)
T - You get the little bit of tartness and saltiness with the passion fruit + pink guava assault. The guava lingers on the tongue for a while at the end like sweet candy.
F - Great carbonation and a great thirst quencher

This is Adroit Theory's second bottled Illusion of Safety and I love both of them so much. They really do have a special thing going on here.
