The beer doesn't pour much head and it dissipates fairly quickly unless you do a hard pour, then you get fizzy bubbles that dissipate really quickly. The beer itself is a really clean looking amber brown that looks really nice. The texture seems to have both the slight thinness of rum on the surface but seems to develop more of a body underneath it.
The smell is pretty good and actually captures the best parts of the rum and bourbon barrels. The rum sugary sweetness mixes with the slight more aromatic bourbon with a bit of sharp booziness to it.
The taste is fantastic. The beer has a good moderate sugary sweetness from the rum that mixes very well with the bourbon notes. Unlike the smell, the dark fruit notes such as dates comes out and intermingles with a light caramel taste.
The feel is good. It has a thinness that immediately turns into a slightly more hefty beer to give it a medium-heavy body.
Overall, this was a really good beer and I hope that AT releases it again since it's seems to be one of the few beers that get rum right.
