The beer pours some nice brown head but it dissipates fairly quickly. The beer itself is a dark chocolate black. The texture is a bit watery though, like black murkiness that he who sleeps beneath seas is hidden in.
The smell and taste are fantastic. The smell has strong notes of cinnamon and pecans with a moderate coconut undercurrent. The smell also has the usual marshmallow note and a bit of saltiness to it. The taste, on the other hand, is a bit more complex, yet blends well. The main notes seem to be coconut up front followed by a good pecan and cinnamon mix. The marshmallow from the base beer is still there and there is a tiny bit of saltiness in the finish but the new notes take center stage. The milk chocolate note is there but more present in the edges rather than in the main show.
The feel is good. It has a nice chocolate syrup texture and a heavy body.
Overall, a really good variant on one of their already interesting stouts. It's definitely worth it.
