A big thanks to Craig for this.
Bottle #0333/3000.
Well...it's definitely not very pretty. The color itself is not too shabby as it is a nice deep shade of yellowy orange. It looks a bit muted with a splash of brown in it, and there are a good deal of white floaties suspended in the liquid. The foamy and frothy bone white cap is impressive as it rests well on top and laces with thick rings from top to bottom.
Very interesting aromas. There is the familiar and welcoming tones of citrus. Grapefruit, orange, lemon and pine are easy to distinguish. Then there are some more exotic notes. Dragon fruit perhaps, and a very herbal scent. My initial thought was sage, but a subdued version of.
Those sentiments follow in the flavor with intense grapefruit and pine, along with an earthy, even meaty taste to it. A good dose of lemon and untoasted sesame come in as well.
It feels great. Smooth, bold and slick, rich. A sharp tingle of carbonation lifts the hefty bitterness right into the cheeks and back of the mouth with a velvety bite.
As the name would indicate, this is an interesting IPA, and a great one at that. Kind of an old skool rich and sappy DIPA. In your face, raw, and unapologetic. Pick it up if you can. Thanks again Craig. Cheers!

L: Poured from a growler to a snifter. Had a bright yellow color and a super cloudy consistency. There was a small amount of white, foamy head that didn't last very long. Pretty good lacing.
S: A big, sweet aroma of hops, tropical fruit, citrus, and malt.
T: Tasted of a whole lot of citrus fruit (lemon in particular), lots of hops (not too much, though), a tinge of malt, a hint of pine, and a heap of tropical (passion fruit, mango). This is a razor sharp, incredibly focused flavor. The hops and fruit elements are on equal footing, creating a powerful taste.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a zesty finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Adroit Theory has the New England style IPA down cold now. A well made and delicious beer.
