L: Pours a thick, viscous fudge that forms a moderate espresso heads. Dissipates slowly, with a residual ring of lacing around the edge of the snifter and a thin film of tan retention. Held to the light, this beer has an opaque black hue.
S: Loads of coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, and nuttiness.
T: Strong, almost overpowering coffee roast. It's almost one-dimensional. Bitter, astringent. Notes of dark chocolate, malt, nuts, smokiness. Hint of char towards the finish.
F: Medium mouthfeel. Smooth going down. Light carbonation, lacks boozy warmth despite higher ABV.
O: Good, not great imperial stout - a fine addition to Adroit's stout lineup. Straightforward and not overly complex. It lacks the extra oomph that would elevate into the upper tier.

March 2022 - 35.5 cl can at De Morgenster in Utrecht.
The nose immediately dense notes of dark chocolate, toasted nuts and caramel.
Creamy and consistent foam, soft and that does not fade completely.
The beer is black, impenetrable.
In the mouth, a thick liquid, with a full taste of dark chocolate, sweetened by caramel nite, hints of maple syrup.
In the background toasted notes that seem almost a godsend after the sweetness that characterizes this very dense Imperial Stout.
Between the gustatory domain of dark chocolate, there are notes of vanilla, toasted almonds and in the background toasted notes of coffee, slightly smoky.
The beer is warm, enveloping, but the alcoholic note is masterfully masked: nothing tending towards ethyl comes out, everything is in full balance with the sweeter shades of beer, such as caramel and vanilla.

I don't have many straight up big stouts these days, no barrels or other frills. This is a chocolatey treat. Chocolate syrup, some bakers chocolate, and a little fudge. Kind of one dimensional, but I'm liking it.

16oz can from Tavour. Black pour, 2 finger beige head. Rich, chocolaty, roasty aroma. Taste is more chocolate and roasty grains. Silky smooth with some lactose vibes. Harkens back to the days when an imperial stout didn't need a ton of adjuncts.

L: Pours very thick and dark then results in a nice brown head. Visually appealing.
S: Unfortunately my bomber pour smells exactly like jarred green olives. Nothing more nothing less.
T: Honestly, if I plug my nose before sipping, this beer would receive at least a 4 in taste as it yeilds a nice smoky flavor with hints of cocoa. But the smell bleeds through to the taste and thus is sabotaged a bit.
F: Feels like it looks, thick yet smooth
O: I love adroit theory but this beer is a bit of a miss for me. The smell completely saturates the senses when enjoying this beer. The alcohol content is a definite plus though.
