Poured into a snifter. This was an ugly beer - the expected opaque dark color but with shockingly white chunky floaties (coconut?) and a nearly absent head. There was the appearance of an oil slick on the surface - I'm guessing from the coconut which would explain the lack of foam. Things got better. A nice and balanced mix of coconut, coffee, chocolate, and floral honey on the nose. The taste was rich and sweet. Chocolate, fresh coffee, restrained coconut, faint bourbon, and floral honey. Full bodied and slightly warming. Really a great beer except for the awful appearance.

Adroit Theory Dia de los Muertos (Coffee, Coconut, Hazelnuts, Bourbon Honey) (Ghost 640), bottle bought at The Wine Source in Baltimore for $14.99 and enjoyed in Philadelphia with friends. For a non-barrel-aged stout, this is pretty damn good. I wish it had a bigger presence of all of the above ingredients and a bigger, more solid mouthfeel, though. More coffee, more honey, more yummies... I do get the adjuncts (coconut and hazelnut).
Glad to try. Not the best in style, but tasty and rather crushable.
