A Tavour treat. Pours a black color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet; vanilla and maple syrup. Tastes sweet; lots of vanilla and cinnamon. Good mouth feel. Thick. No bitterness at all. Enjoyed this one.

Pours a syrupy, dark brown with no head formation. Agitate the glass...still nothing. I guess it's just sleeping.

Nose is something else. Sweet, bright coffee. Some roasty quality but not dark as your standard coffee brew. Big fall/pumpkin spice presence. Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove. This smells like a pumpkin spice latte. Complex. Makes me just want to sit here and sniff away.

Taste is a huge burst of fall spice up front. It's very present, but restrained. Subdued. A sweet overtone persists throughout. Like icing on a carrot cake. The more I drink this, the more the coffee comes through. Its hiding in the background but it's there. It provides the slightest bit of bittering roastiness on the back end. The spices generate a touch of heat on the swallow. There's a little bit of a savory quality.

Mouthfeel is thick and oily with an almost imperceptible amount of carbonation. I guess this is why it didn't form any head on the pour. This sits heavy on the pallete. Thick and almost silky but the sugar leaves a cloying consistency making it feel oily and dense.

Overall this brew has me torn. This is delicious and complex. Very different and well executed. The only thing that holds it back is the overwhelming presence of sugar. Unfortunately this not only affects the taste but the mouthfeel as well. It would be wise to pair this properly with a meal. Something savory and complimentary. That would really bring it home. A great brew, just short of being absolutely brilliant.

Straight to the point contents, earthy charred mushrooms, maple syrup, brown sugar, distinct coffee, some spices, nice subtle burn, stupendously complex with each component standing out individually. Absolute Nirvana!!!

5oz: sweet w/a roasted coffee base for some balance; still look, lightly carbed; the nose is a bit more enticing; coffee, molasses, a hint of spice, and a weird aspect that could be the mushrooms

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Sparse lacing.

S: An interesting and subtle aroma of malt, coffee, spices, and an earthy quality.

T: Tasted of a small amount of coffee (less than expected), a hint of maple syrup (always nice), some malt (present throughout), lots of spices (cinnamon, ginger), and a bit of the earthy quality (the advertised mushrooms. Definitely not your typical stout flavor. The spices and mushrooms, give it a unique, yet likable dynamic. Quite tasty.

F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: If you want something slightly unusual, check this one out. Drinkable.
