Ghost 797 & 1022
The follow up to Heaving Through Corrupted Lungs. A continuation of our quest to perfect Hazy DIPA's that are highly aromatic, pillowy and soft malt, with a low-bitterness, and juicy finish. This beer uses our newest "hazy yeast". We also dialed the hot addition hops down to the lowest level (yet), so expect an extremely soft body.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down and left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberries are present in the nose along with notes of lime and stone fruit.
T: The taste follows the smell and also has additional hints of herbal hops towards the finish. A slight amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA does a nice job at showcasing the flavors from all three of the different hops.

16 oz can from Tavour. Ghost 1022. Hazy orange juice pour, sparse head. Aroma offers very faint citrus peel. Not an olfactory assault like some of their others. Taste comes in smooth and mellow, light fruity notes, bready malts and a small zesty bitterness. For a TIPA it's pretty tame and super easy to drink.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 12/4/2019. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 8%, with minimal lingering hop burn after the finish. Overall this is an awesome NEDIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Orange meringue, pineapple-peach Jell-o. Really nice tropical melange, balanced with citrus, sweet fruit and nectar. Pillowy and soft malt begets an ultra creamy feel. Great tropical and resinous taste, hint of pine and red cedar, but it circles back to fruity orange drops, sour tangerine altoids, and Welch's peach snacks. Finishes with a slight minerality, and a quickly diminishing juiciness.
