Eggshell white to very light tan head, delicately whipped up, average retention with splotchy lacing. Translucent yellow liquid, few visible bubbles. The nose emphasizes papaya, guava, mango to pineapple fruit, full-on tropicality, bolstered by pink grapefruit, peppercorns and honey, the oats and graininess in general on the subtle side, overall though there’s a jolly amiability to it and it’s not trying too hard. Medium-bodied, carries its weight evenly from start to finish. Neither too dry not too sweet, the carbonation fluffs it up now and then, minimal prickle. The citrus strives for the spotlight, pink grapefruit and lime on the main. More pine and florality here, gone is anything with an edge like pepper. More by way of biscuit than cereal grains, in any event the malts bring more roundness. Peach, apricot here as much as pineapple, mango. Pleasing tarry aftertaste sort of comes out of nowhere. What it may lack in precision makes up for in pleasure. (Canned 9/10/20)
