L: Pours deep, dark brown and forms a moderate espresso head that is quick to fade. Faint trace of retention on the surface and a faint ring of bubbles forming around the edge. Held to the light, it's an opaque fudge.
S: Roasted malts, char, a hint of burnt sugar, chocolate, and vanilla.
T: Initially there is a strong note of roasted malts. After it settles, it is very sweet - maple, dark chocolate, brown sugar, molasses. Plenty of booze in the finish - whiskey. Warming with a hint of char.
F: Full-bodied. Has a thick, creamy mouthfeel. Light carbonation.
O: This is a complex, boozy brew and an excellent late sipper. The alcohol is obvious without overpowering the palate. Well done.

Can pour at the brewery. Inky black, thin ring of tan head. Not a lot of adjuncts here, just a brew that embraces the essence of an imperial stout, big roasty malts, dark chocolate, coffee bitterness. Simple but oh so rich and luxurious

Black with a plum hue and a thin mocha-colored head that quickly rocket fizzes away into nothing. No crown, no lacing.
Nice dark malts in the aroma. Underlying maple, leather and a hint of vanilla.
The taste is sweet up front and remarkably sweet in the finish, balanced against by strong, deep molasses. Plum, umami, red wine, maple, vanilla and alcohol heat all make appearances, too.
Oily, sticky, relatively full bodied feel with low carbonation.
The powerful vanilla-maple on the backend cut by very strong dark malts and molasses is super interesting. The red wine character isn’t so much to my liking in this context; sort of reminds me of an infection. “Ghost 987.” April 2021.

12 oz bottle, bottled April 2021 ("Ghost 986", whatever that means), poured into a Spiegelau stout glass at ~40 degrees F and imbibed slowly.
L: Poured a standard stout inky black, and formed absolutely no head whatsoever at any point. I did receive this bottle via online order and shipping, and the cap on this particular bottles was wrapped in a few layers of clear shipping tape, so there's that.
S: Chocolate syrup, with some prune and cherry undertones.
T: A massive wave of sweetness hits right up front and rolls through to the finish, almost like someone mixed candi sugar into some blackstrap molasses and added it to this beer. Beneath and behind that are notes of prune, freshly turned earth, and faint cherries.
F: Thick and syrupy, if a tad still.
O: I like it, but I'm a noted fan of sweet beers.

All That I Have Learned was a big buy. A bold 16.66% imperial. He is a true Russian with a DEEP sweetness that has to be from malt syrup. There are brown sugar vibes mixed with cinnamon spice. Very strong at the high ABV and will get you buzzin'.

Clear, mahogany brown with no head, undoubtedly due to the 3BE ABV. Tiny hints of whisky and licorice in the nose. Quite tasty on the tongue. Lots of maple up front, cut immediately by whisky. Dark malt foundation. Mouthfeel is full and slightly biting from the alcohol. Definitely not a dessert type offering.

I have no idea if I’m rating the correct one, but this is Ghost 986 from April 2021. Pours just about black with a quickly vacated head. Smell of dark roasty malt with sweet dark sugar, sweet molasses, a mild vanilla undertone, and booze booze booze. Taste is roasty dark malt, sweet molasses, and alcohol. Alcohol, I say. My god, when you tell me it’s 16.66 abv, please deliver the alcohol. And yes, they do. Sometimes beers that aren’t barrel aged but are high abv are too in your face with the alcohol. This one is somehow upfront with it but not obnoxious about it. Feel is thick, syrupy, and big bodied. Oh, it’s boozy.
