Canned 2020/12/10, love a good doppelbock pours off white fizzy 1/2 finger head that fades at a med pace, little lacing, mostly clear amber to cranberry red color
Nose brings sweet malt, little roasted notes, plenty of sweet caramel toffee candy aromas, a bit of biscuity malts and bready crust deep underneath, malt derived fruity esters with some candied plum, little raisin
Taste is similar, plenty more toasted reddish malt, bread crust, little biscuit, more sweet flavors, lots of caramel and toffee, candy syrup like, Ritz buttery cracker, but of earthy spicy hop bitterness, med sweet sticky finish
Mouth is med to heavier bod, a bit syrupy, higher frothy almost effervescent carb
Overall not bad, a bit too Americanized with so much sweet caramel toffee syrupy like characters, but otherwise nice

L: reddish, burnt siena hue with a lacing of tight bubbles. Mostly opaque.
S: bready, toasted (but not sugary) malts that strongly resemble a Vienna lager more than anything else.
T: toasted, malts with a hint of esters. Classic doppelbock but not as full bodied as I was expecting, especially for 7% ABV. When I think doppebock, I think Celebrator and I wasn’t left with that same feeling.
F: esters linger on the tongue for a bit. Carbonation was a bit punchier than I’d expected but it still went down easy.
O: Solid representation of the type; good, but not great, especially for A/T. Was looking for some additional body with a chewy finish for the alcohol content but I didn’t get that.
