Our 16th release in this series offers more of what you've come to expect - a complex, pillowy triple with subtle booziness and mild bitterness layered under juicy hops. This iteration prominently features Citra and Moutere offering citrus forward notes of Orange, Grapefruit, and Lime before Simcoe and Sultana kick in a mellow floral and pine profile on the finish.

The looks just seem a tad more solid; an incredibly rocky, white head. A bit of a brighter side to the aroma; more lime-like (but no change in my rating). Fresher, cleaner taste; very citrus forward with elements of lime and orange; still strongly bitter but losing a lot of the phenolic overtones. The mouthfeel remains the same.

This can comes from the same line and date that my first review was based on. To me, it seems like the lime-notes have really developed. Perhaps it's just a different day with a different taste perception on my part. Maybe the beer just needed to age just a tad longer to smooth some things out and bring out that fresh lime quality I'm detecting now. Regardless, a great tasting triple IPA.
----------------
Cloudy, peach skin yellow body topped with a dense, sculpted and creamy head; white fingers and rings of foam stick to the glass. Muted earthy citrus-like smell; citrus rind pith; orange and grapefruit. Powder sugar, dull citrus flavors, and a prominent hop bitterness comprise the taste; boozy; phenol tones. Heavy body; smooth and velvety on the palate; a bit of alcohol burn.

This is a great looking and feeling beer, while the taste suffers somewhat from a stinging, pungent, almost medicinal taste. Still, it's a triple IPA with lactose. Things do mellow out a bit as the beer warms up.
