Another re-brew of a Hazy Double from our past, and the recipe has been updated to bring it in line with our current hazy projects. This version showcases Citra and Mosaic, providing prominent juicy, citrus notes from start to finish.

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and lactose, with hints of fruity and slightly resinous hops also coming through. Taste is a decent balance of light biscuity malt, strong lactose and fruity, juicy, slightly herbal and resinous hops, with citrus and tropical notes of grapefruit, lime peel, mango and papaya, as well as just a hint of pine lingering in the aftertaste. Finishes with a strong lactose sweetness and light/medium bitterness, as well as some grapefruit, mango and hints of pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Although I've probably liked this best out of the NE DIPAs I've had from Adroit Theory, it's still too sweet and heavy-handed on the lactose for me. Do they even make NEIPAs without lactose? I will say that this is a bit more bitter and resinous than the previous brews I had by them, with the hops standing out a bit more against the lactose as well, with some zesty citrus and slightly acidic tropical notes, but overall the lactose still makes them feel washed-out.

Can dated 2/3/21 into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold with a nice fluffy off-white head. Initial impression is juicy pineapple, mango, and caramel, perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel is sticky; alcohol is very well hidden. Finish is more juicy citrus, with just a bit of lingering bitterness. An eminently drinkable DIPA from Adroit Theory. They do this style extremely well.
